Copper Mountain Restaurants: A Local's Guide to the Best Places to Eat

People are always surprised by how many good dining options are within reach of Copper Mountain. The resort itself has solid spots across its three villages, but the real gems are scattered across Summit County — a 10–20 minute drive in any direction. We've been based at Copper for over 20 years. Here's where we actually eat.
Our Top Pick: Sauce Family Pizzeria & Italian Eatery
If you're going to one dinner during your trip, make it Sauce.
Located at Passage Point in East Village, Sauce has become the best full-service restaurant at Copper Mountain. Old-world Italian influence, a menu that runs from wood-fired pizza to handmade pasta to chicken marsala, and a room that seats 150 — meaning you can actually get a table even during peak weeks. The spaghetti bolognese gets raved about constantly, the tiramisu is legitimately great, and the wine list punches well above what you'd expect from an on-mountain restaurant.
The bar program is a standout too — serious bourbon selection and an impressive wine wall with old and new world options. If you sit at the bar, ask about the wine flights.
Tell GM Silas that Lark Mountain sent you.
Sauce opens for summer in June and runs through the season. Hours run from 3 pm daily. Reservations recommended on weekends — book ahead at sauceoncopper.com.
On the Mountain
Center Village
Ten Mile Tavern
The classic Center Village hangout. Steps from the American Eagle lift, solid craft beer selection on tap, and a menu of comfort food — pizza, burgers, sandwiches. Nothing fancy, everything reliable. Good for après-ski when you want to decompress without committing to a full dinner.
East Village
JJ's Rocky Mountain Tavern
The East Village institution. Claims the longest bar in Summit County, and it might be true. Wood-fired pizza, in-house smoked meats, live music most nights during peak season, and a turn-of-the-century saloon feel that's genuinely fun for families and groups. Happy hour runs 3–6 pm with discounted apps and drinks. If you're staying in East Village and don't want to shuttle to Center, this is your go-to.
West Village
Duke's
Dog-friendly south-facing patio with a mountain backdrop that's hard to beat on a warm afternoon. Good for a post-ski beer or a casual lunch. One of the best outdoor spots at Copper when the weather cooperates.
On-Mountain
Solitude Station
At the top of American Eagle — the mid-mountain lunch stop with the most dramatic views at Copper. The Gore Range, the Ten Mile Range, and the Continental Divide spread out in every direction. Open daily 10 am to 2:30 pm. Bring layers; it's exposed up there even on calm days.
Flyer's
A local favorite at the top of American Flyer. Low-key shack energy — burgers, handheld waffles, soup, beer. More about the vibe than the menu, but beloved for exactly that reason.
Beyond the Resort: Where Locals Actually Go
The best meals within reach of Copper aren't on the mountain. Frisco, Dillon, and Silverthorne are all 10–20 minutes away and each has spots worth the short drive.
Breakfast
Butterhorn Bakery & Café — Frisco
Ten minutes east on I-70, right on Frisco's Main Street. This is the breakfast spot in Summit County — fresh-baked pastries, strong coffee, and a menu that draws locals from across the county on weekend mornings. Get there early on weekends or expect a wait. Worth every minute of it.
Mountain Lion Café — Silverthorne
A proper hole-in-the-wall diner. Nothing fancy, no pretense — just good, no-nonsense breakfast and lunch at prices that feel like a different era. The kind of place that's been feeding locals and construction crews for decades and doesn't need a social media presence. If you stumbled onto it without being told about it, you'd feel like you found a secret. Now you know.
Fine Dining
Bistro North — Dillon
Fifteen minutes from Copper and one of the best restaurants in the county. Warm atmosphere, thoughtful menu, the kind of place you'd go to celebrate something or just because you want a genuinely excellent meal. The food is consistently great, the service matches it, and it doesn't feel like a tourist-facing ski town restaurant. Reservations strongly recommended.
Mexican
Red Mountain Grill — Dillon
Our go-to for Mexican in Summit County. Good margaritas, solid portions, and the kind of food that actually tastes like it was made with care rather than cranked out for tourist volume. In Dillon, which means it's a quick shot from Copper. A local staple for a reason.

The Kitchen Advantage
Having a full kitchen at your condo is one of the underrated perks of renting over staying in a hotel — especially for families. Stock up at City Market in Frisco on the way in, cook breakfast and lunch in the unit, and save the dining budget for Sauce and Bistro North.
