After a long day skiing, nothing beats soaking in a hot tub. Your legs are sore. Your body is tired. A hot tub eases the pain and helps you recover for tomorrow's runs.

But not all Copper Mountain properties include hot tub access. Some have private hot tubs. Others offer shared building amenities. Some don't have hot tubs at all.

Here's what you need to know about finding lodging with hot tubs in Copper Mountain.

Types of Hot Tub Access

Private Hot Tubs:Some properties include private hot tubs on decks or patios. You have exclusive access. No sharing, no waiting, no crowds.

Private hot tubs are the best option if you want privacy and convenience. Walk out your door and you're soaking.

Private hot tubs are less common and usually found in higher-end properties or standalone homes. Expect to pay more for this amenity.

Shared Building Hot Tubs:Many condos and townhomes include shared hot tubs as part of the building amenities. These hot tubs are located outdoors near the building or inside common areas.

Shared hot tubs are free to use for guests staying in the building. They're maintained by the HOA and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The downside: Shared hot tubs get crowded, especially during peak season. You might wait for space or share the tub with strangers. They're also less private and sometimes less clean than private tubs.

Athletic Club Access:Some properties offer access to the Copper Mountain Athletic Club. The club includes hot tubs, pools, fitness equipment, and saunas.

Access costs around $14 per person per day. It's not free, but it's a good option if your property doesn't include hot tub access.

The athletic club is clean, well-maintained, and less crowded than building hot tubs. It's a solid middle ground between no hot tub and private hot tub access.

No Hot Tub Access:Some properties don't include any hot tub access. If hot tubs matter to you, confirm access before you book.

Don't assume every property has a hot tub. Ask specifically and get confirmation in writing.

What to Look For in Hot Tub Properties

Location:Private hot tubs on covered decks are better than exposed outdoor tubs. You can soak in bad weather without freezing.

Shared hot tubs near the building entrance are more convenient than tubs located far from your unit. Walking in a robe and slippers through snow gets old fast.

Hours and Rules:Shared hot tubs have operating hours. Some close at 10 p.m. Others stay open later. Check the hours before you book.

Also check capacity limits. Some buildings restrict hot tub use to a certain number of people at a time. If you're a group of six, make sure you can all fit.

Condition:Ask about hot tub condition and maintenance
