In 2006, after a trip up Summit County for a family ski vacation, we headed back to Denver recounting our trip. After spending $250 a night on a room, plus ski lift tickets, plus going out to eat, our “family fun” had quickly turned into a very expensive trip. What started out as the simple idea to take our family skiing, quickly turned stressful and costly. My wife and I felt there had to be a more affordable way for a family to take a vacation to the mountains, yet not sacrifice having a nice place to stay. It was at that moment, we were inspired to make family ski vacations more affordable. As a result, we started our family-run business Lark Mountain Properties.
We started by purchasing our first 2 bedroom condo in Dillon, CO back in 2006. Our goal was to use the property periodically, and rent it to family and friends at a reasonable rate to help carry our costs. Once word spread that there was a fully renovated, nice, affordable condo in the mountains (not one of the typical dumps within the same price range) that was within 25 minutes of all the major resorts, so began Lark Mountain Properties. We've been following the same model ever since.
We’re a family passionate about the importance of our time together, especially family ski vacations in the mountains. Lark Mountain was formed on those values, and intends to build on our passion by offering others the opportunity to rent a desirable, welcoming, and affordable place to vacation, without the typical high resort prices.
